The weaving, identical to that of tapestry, is carried out on horizontal looms.

The design painted on paper or canvas is placed under the warp threads so that the weavers can follow it.

This technique includes several processes such as "Hand-Loom" weaving with double warp (hard back) on hand looms allowing for the creation of simple geometric designs like checks and stripes, flat weaving or weaving on Jacquard looms, allowing for a finish without the application of a textile backing, giving the rug a better fineness and flexibility.

All these weaving methods allow for a wide diversity of appearances and beautiful designs.
